We are seeking a full-time Middle School math teacher for the 2022–2023 school year. Potential courses include Fifth and Sixth Grade math, Pre-algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra II. Our school’s program is rooted in a Singapore-based pedagogy from Grades Prekindergarten through Sixth, and then shifts to a more traditional approach in Seventh and Eighth Grade. Our program emphasizes scaffolded student growth and the academic development of Middle School students. The successful candidate will demonstrate an investment in the success of children, particularly middle school-aged ones. It is our faculty’s profound expectation that any team member has a significant desire to cultivate students as upstanding global citizens who understand and practice critical thinking, moral responsibility, social justice, and service in a spirit of deep inquiry across and between a variety of disciplines. We seek candidates who are committed to students and are energetic, creative, and eager to continue their professional growth. A Master’s degree is preferred but not essential. The preferred candidate will have at least three years of relevant teaching experience. Interested applicants should send a resume along with a cover letter highlighting their background and explaining their roles and strengths in working within a close-knit team to develop engaging interdisciplinary learning experiences. Additionally, candidates should share their educational philosophy (noting one’s instructional and assessment beliefs) as a separate document.
